What is Clomid (Clomiphene Citrate)?
Clomid (Clomiphene Citrate) is in the class of drugs called Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulators (SERM). It has anti-estrogen effects and was originally developed as a fertility medication for women who do not ovulate normally.
Clomid indications for use
Infertility (lack of ovulation)
uterine bleeding, low sperm count in men.
How to take, course of treatment and dosage
In the absence of ovulation, prescribed 50 mg once a day (before bedtime), starting on the 5th day of the menstrual cycle, for 5 days. If the effect does not occur – increase the dose to 150 mg / day or lengthen the course up to 10 days. Men with decreased sperm count are prescribed 50 mg 1-2 times a day for 3-4 months. The drug Clomid is taken regardless of food intake.
Do not use in
- severe liver and kidney dysfunction
- uterine bleeding of unclear origin
- ovarian cyst
- intolerance to the drug.
